April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day is the first national holiday of the Republic of Turkey. It has been celebrated as “April 23rd National Day” in Turkey since 1921. Since 1933, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk accepted children into his office on April 23rd and held a conversation with them as part of this holiday. 19th May, Commemoration of Ataturk, Youth and Sports Day

Commemoration of Ataturk, Youth and Sports Day is the official holiday of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. This holiday celebrated every year on May 19. On May 19, 1919, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk sailed to Samsun on the ferry Bandirma. It is accepted as the day the Turkish War of Independence started against the occupation of the Entente States.

15th July, Democracy and National Unity Day

Since 2016, Democracy and National Unity Day is a public holiday celebrated every year on July 15 in Turkey. It was declared a public holiday to commemorate the more than 240 civilians, police officers and soldiers who were martyred during the July 15 Coup Attempt.
